Music is one constant factor in my life. I used to listen to my dad playing Pink Floyd and Santana from when I was still a child. I always put on music while studying, while getting ready to go out, or simply just to have music playing in the background. Well, you can say that my life always had a soundtrack 🙂Â
As I grew up, the styles of music that I listened to, changed according to the different moods. They also changed according to the people I met. Fast forward to now, when I look at my playlist, there is a jumble of different music styles, from ballads to rock, from cheesy Abba music to some blues and jazz tracks. This is all thanks to the different people that I met along the way. I tend to link songs to people and memories. Listening to my random playlist is always a trip down memory lane.
The last decade has gifted me with live music. During the past years, I have managed to go to music festivals and concerts – something which I had been longing for, but never had the chance to do. Listening to live music, especially when you’re at a festival, just laying on the grass with nothing to do but delve into the music of bands you had never heard of, is something that I have come to live for. There is nothing better than witnessing the coming together of instruments which create so much beauty for the soul.
Music has always been my tool to deal with my emotions. It has been my companion through everything in life – in my studies, while working, while dreaming about starting this blog, it has helped me get over my anxieties. And maybe, good music is what the world needs right now…
“Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the Universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good and just and beautiful.”  – Plato
